Labouchere System with no Zero

The Labouchere System is a progressive betting system where you increase your bets after each loss. Similar in some ways to the world famous Martingale. The progression is not as aggressive though so the risk of ruin is a lot less.

You begin with a sequence of numbers. It doesn’t matter what. There just needs to be a row of numbers. Some people just do the simplest, eg, 1,2,3,4,5. but a sequence such as 2,6,7,3,5,2,1 would do just as well.

Lets the take the latter example, 2,6,7,3,5,2,1. First bet is the sum of the outside numbers. In this case. 2+1.

If the bet is a winner, delete the two numbers and repeat. For example, 6,7,3,5,2 would be left, the next bet would be 6+2 = 8.
If the bet is a loser, the last bet is added to the sequence. For example, 2,6,7,3,5,2,1,3 would be the numbers in the sequence and the next bet would be 2+3 = 5

You stop whenever the sequence is totally deleted and take home the sum of the sequence. In our example, 2+6+7+3+5+2+1 = 26. You will lose if the bets hit the table limit and cannot carry on.

As the progression will take a long time to hit the house limit the theory is that, you can keep going until you get a long favourable sequence.

Will this system work on Betfair Zero Roulette? Personally, I think it will. As the game is totally fair, you are not subject to losing in the long term. In the long term, you are going to break even. You get swings in to positive and negative but you will more or less break even. If you have the discipline to walk away once you clear a line, then you can pocket the profit.

What do you think? With a fair roulette game, can the Labouchere system work?
